On Thursday 22nd February we went to the Chiltern Open Air Museum for an Anglo Saxon day experience.
We had a lovely time doing lots of activities. We did archaeological digs, identifying old coins, piecing together old pottery and labelling artefacts. Our favourite activity was making gorgeous Anglo Saxon brooches. Thank you to the people who organised it and the people who worked there.
Vivi and Amelie – Year 3
Even though it was muddy and rainy, we really enjoyed the day. My favourite bit of the day was when we did the archaeological dig and putting the pottery pieces together was really fun but tricky!
I liked it when we got look at all the replica items like the Anglo Saxon drinking horn, helmet and sword. It was fun working out what items went where on the timeline.
