Thankfully the rain held off for our annual Infant Site May Dancing event. After a torrential previous day, the children on the Infant Site came to school clutching beautiful posies of spring flowers and wearing their beautiful summer attire. We had a wonderful following of parents and grandparents as we commenced our tour of the village. Our first stop was the green where the children sang two songs beautifully and gave out posies to members of the procession. The children then continued on a circular route ending back at school after another singing stop and handing out posies to unsuspecting villagers! Back at school, we gathered to show the May dances the children had been learning. . All went to plan with only one technical hitch! Year 2 then invited their parents to join in with a dance – it definitely worked up some appetites for our picnic. After a wonderful lunch (the sun even made an appearance), children said goodbye to their parents and returned to class for the afternoon.
Thank you to all of those involved in teaching the children the dances and helping with the event.
