In Science, Year 1 have been looking at Materials. Today, we built our very own boats out of paper and masking tape and we tested how these floated in the water. We found out that the longer we left the boats in the water, the more the water soaked into the paper and therefore got heavier and sank. Even though some of our boats sank to the bottom, we had some successful boats that floated as well. We now know that paper is not the best material to use, we think rubber might work better.
